Michael J. Skoler
Chief Executive Officer

Michael SkolerMichael J. Skoler is responsible for all aspects of operations at The Law Offices of James Sokolove, LLC.

His specific responsibilities include new business development, management of existing and potential affiliate relations, identifying and researching new products (case types), developing marketing strategies, and securing national counsel to handle the caseload. Michael maintains frequent contact with current national affiliates to ensure quality control and to manage and audit files generated through The Law Offices of James Sokolove, LLC.

Prior to joining the firm, Michael was a founding member of Arthur Andersen’s Global Corporate Finance Group, where he served as a Senior Director in Andersen Corporate Finance LLC. Prior to Andersen, Michael was an Associate with Riverside Partners, a leveraged buyout firm with headquarters in Boston.

Michael earned his MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and holds a BSBA in Finance and Law from American University in Washington D.C. He is qualified as a General Securities Representative.

 

Robert Bunn
Chief Financial Officer

Robert Bunn joined LOJS as its Chief Financial Officer in May 2008 after consulting for the Company since March 2004.  Mr. Bunn oversees the Company’s finance, accounting, and information technology functions.  He also plays a central role in developing and evaluating LOJS’s strategic direction and capital market activities.

While consulting for LOJS, Mr. Bunn was a founder and principal at White Oak Partners LLC, a management consultancy that provides financial and strategic consulting service to early stage and middle market growth companies.  Prior to founding White Oak Partners, Mr. Bunn served as vice president – finance and operations at Create!form International Inc., a document output management software company with offices in the US, UK, and Australia.  While Mr. Bunn served at Create!form, it was named to the Deloitte & Touche Fast 500, a listing of the most rapidly growing technology companies in the US.  Mr. Bunn’s tenure at Create!form ended in September 2003, when Create!form was successfully sold to Bottomline Technologies (de) Inc.

Prior to joining Create!form, Mr. Bunn was an associate with Andersen Capital Markets LLC, where he worked with Mr. Skoler, and led an acquisition team for Ferguson Enterprises, one of the world’s largest wholesale distributors of building supplies.

Mr. Bunn is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society.  He has a BS in finance and economics from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and a MDiv. with high honors from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

 

Martin Lock
Chief Marketing Officer

Martin LockMartin is responsible for the strategic direction, management and application of all marketing resources and activities on behalf of The Law Offices of James Sokolove, LLC.

Prior to joining LOJS Martin co-built and sold a highly successful, leading edge ASP model marketing productivity technology company. Prior to this he had developed an impressive international advertising and marketing career with Interpublic and WPP Group, two of the worlds leading global marketing services companies.

He is recognized as a direct marketing expert having built the South African offices of O&M Direct and Wunderman Worldwide, prior to being transferred to NY with WW to head up international accounts.

He has particular expertise in the application of technology to maximize marketing productivity, has spoken at various DMA events and was keynote speaker at the inaugural SA Direct Marketing Association Symposium.

He is a graduate of Bristol Business School in England.

 

Gabriel Miller
General Counsel

undefinedGabriel Miller, General Counsel of The Law Offices of James Sokolove, LLC oversees all legal activities involving the firm.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, Gabe is responsible for implementing the ongoing national growth of The Law Offices of James Sokolove, LLC. His legal oversight extends to national marketing and relationships with affiliate firms as well as day-to-day firm operations.

Gabe served as General Counsel in a variety of industries before joining The Law Offices of James Sokolove, LLC. He was General Counsel for Captivate Network, a media company reaching over 2 million viewers each day. Prior to that, he was General Counsel for Fleet Real Estate Capital, a multi-billion dollar commercial loan originator and servicer and Senior Vice President and Senior Counsel at Fleet Bank, responsible for real estate issues involving several thousand domestic and international facilities. Gabe started his career as a commercial litigator at Cohen & Wolf.

Gabe is a contributing author to Successful Partnering Between Inside and Outside Counsel published by Thomson West. He also writes a regular column for New England In-House Magazine and has trained thousands of lawyers and business development specialists in legal marketing, sales, and service.

Gabe has a B.S. from the University of Connecticut Honors Scholars Program and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law.

 

Eric Van Horne
Chief Service Officer

Eric Van HorneEric Van Horne is the Chief Service Officer for The Law Offices of James Sokolove, LLC. He is responsible for all customer service, lead management and quality assurance activities for the firm. With his background as an operations and people management professional, Eric’s mission is to assure the best possible experience for all clients and affiliates who come in contact with The Law Offices of James Sokolove, LLC.

Before joining the firm, Eric was a Principal with the New Frontier Management Group where he advised public and private entities on customer service, business relocations and economic development projects. Prior to that, Eric spent 15 years in the Airline Industry where he was most recently Vice President, Customer Service for MLT Vacations, Inc., the Northwest Airlines WorldVacations Company. While at Northwest Airlines he was also Managing Director, Ground Operations Policy and Training, Director of Finance for the $700 MM Detroit Midfield Terminal Project, and he held a number of operations and project management positions in the Passenger Reservations and Customer Service divisions. He served in line operations management at United Airlines prior to his years at Northwest.

Eric earned an MBA from the Yale School of Management, and a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
